IND vs ENG - Essex Battle BAT vs BALL

India faces an uphill battle against the England national cricket team as the recent test match against Essex exposes its frail top order. The opening combination of Dhawan and Vijay has not successfully delivered against the bowling of the English County Cricket Team - Essex. Dhawan has scored ducks in both of his innings which is a major cause of worry as far as the top order is concerned.

Rahul has shown flashes of brilliance in his first innings score of 58 and proves as a valid replacement for Dhawan in the opening spot. The Essex bowling has derailed the top order posing major question to the Indian management. The bowling has not been too impressive by itself, quite evident from the score of 359 amassed by the Essex batting order. Essentially, the Indian cricket management are faced with two major problems- a weak top order and bowling that fails to deliver when it is most required.

The upcoming series is a major battle between the top order and the pace and bounce of the England team, with veterans such as Broad and Anderson coming into play. Adhil Rashid is a wild card entry who remains a major threat to the Indian batting after his performance in the 20-20 concluded recently.

The batting of the England team remains yet another concern with the likes of Bairstow and Butler emerging in the T-20 series with superlative form. The likes of Bhuvi and Shami is essential to dismantle the upper order of the England team. It's a contest of  the batting of Indian cricket team and the bowling of the ECB and it promises to be an exciting affair!
